We’re way better off with roads, bridges, interstates, bike paths, etc. Hiking on a trail is way easier than hiking through rough wilderness.
But it took time to build that infrastructure.
In business, in life, and in the spiritual life, we are far better off if we build the infrastructure-if we put proper procedures in place, if we create personal goals and plans to reach them, if we dive deep into spiritual reading and create a plan of life for good progress in nourishing our spiritual lives. But we have to recognize that there will be frictional losses during that time. We have to be prepared for dust, rocky ground, pouring concrete, hard work, etc.
But building the infrastructure is worth the cost.
“Have patience with all things, but first of all with yourself.” -St. Francis de Sales
